Salzburg - The Sound of Music/Mozart

We went to Salzburg last weekend. Our Maria is in the mothering way and our Fritz and Friedrich haven't shown up yet, but otherwise we were the spitten image. We sang Do Ray Me all weekend.

We drove past Hitler's Eagles Nest retreat.

As it turns out despite what everyone would naturally assume, Doppler was not Dutch. He was Austrian. I apologize to Justin for the confusion.

Oh my, I laughed so hard after seeing that first picture. And I didn't even need the second picture to know exactly where you were and what you were doing. And somehow I feel that it should have been on those steps with you. I mean, I KNOW we can act out Seven Brides. We must be able to act out Sound of Music too.

I'm so happy you had fun in Salzburg. It was the high point of our trip in September. I have to admit we went looking for Mozart highlights rather than Sound of Music or famous physicists. Did you go up to the fortress?

We did visit the known Mozart sites: birth house, residence house, church where he was baptized (definitely one of my top 5 European cathedrals). We tried to keep our fellow journey-women interested so we didn't spend too much time on house tours. It was for us a very cool city as well.
