Laptop Repair
Our cord was acting fritsy so repaired the cable. That didn't fix it so I found a great website that described taking the whole thing apart. I ended up taking the whole thing apart twice like this because the first time didn't do it - I only resoldered the top of the power connector to the circuit board (silly me). So I did it right the second time. Luckily - since this laptop is Sally's life line to family/friends.

I think you are very brave. I'm afraid to take apart Emily's broken radio. Let alone a laptop. I guess that engineering degree helps. Glad it worked!
I'm surprised you didn't try to fix it with your hot glue gun.
Hot glue was my plan B. (honestly)
That more than amazes me!!! Can't wait to have you closer to help us fix our electrical stuff.
